I have used the SUNY common application and declared my major as undecided. Is it true that I have to pick a certain school at Binghamton? Or can I just leave it as undecided?

If your from out of state, especially Wisconsin, you have a really good chance at getting in. I think there are only a handful of students from Wisconsin, maybe 10-15 max.

You dont really have to pick a specific school. However, if you want to be a management major and get into SOM, the stats are significantly higher than apply to say Harpur College for the Arts and Sciences.

AFireInside530, Thanks that makes me feel more confident about my chances.

The thing is... on the SUNY common app. I said im undecided..so if I get accepted what school am I gonna be put at? Harpur college? or just a general college or something?

Is harpur college considered hard to get into? Because since its arts and sciences, tahts probably the one Id want to go to because im intrested in Biological sciences like biochemistry

"What if I don’t know what I want my major to be? Will it hurt my chances if I apply undecided? No, it won’t hurt your chances. Many young adults don't know exactly what they want to do in college. Some freshmen apply as undecided, then use the first year or two of general studies to develop their focus. Students who take that option are admitted to Harpur College of Arts and Sciences. Other students apply directly to a particular major because they want to take foundational courses their freshman year."

I have no specific info on the difficulty of getting into the other specific schools. My daughter is also leaning towards the sciences, but is also interested in psych, anthropology. She wants an opportunity to explore before committing, there's only so much you can learn about in high school.
