Thanks for reading!

You are def. qualified... I can't say how much tho. Awesome courseload... but I'm afraid for your asian/piano/orchestra combination

Hi J.Caesar,
Sorry, no chances from me. I don't know much.
A piece of advice, however: you might want to consider generalizing the names of the awards you've received if you want to remain anonymous on these boards.
You look like a truly accomplished person to me! Relax, enjoy your summer, and apply to a number of colleges/unis you like, in a range of selectivity, and you'll be just fine.

great chances...write a jaw dropping essay and you'll probably get in.

fyi, yale has EA not ED.

Thanks for your advice; what aspects of my resume do you guys think I should work on this summer to up my chances a bit? I'm sort of hesitant to do stuff just for a resume, but perhaps I'll like what I need to do. :D

Riverrunner: I tried doing that, but I basically copied/pasted a resume we had to do for English, and it was taking WAY too long, so I decided that I don't really care if people recognize me. :)

Actually, Yale has SCEA, not EA.

To the OP: your chances are great; I see no visible weaknesses. Emphasize your passion in your essays and you should be fine.

Hmm, really? You guys seem more confident about this thing than I am.

You have decent chances. You have to make a lot out of your music involvement, and have great recs and essays. You can be valedictorian with two B's?

Yeah, because with the weighting, it's like I took 5 AP courses and two honors courses junior year and got As in all of them; or, if you would like to think about it another way, 0 (instead of 2) APs sophomore year.

Or maybe it's just that my high school isn't compettive enough...I don't know.

So glad this part of my life is over.

There is no such thing as "being fine" when applying to HYP... admissions at this level of selectivity is very arbitrary. My advice is (whatever your stats): do not walk into the process with any expectations at all. You might be pleasantly rewarded next year, you might not, but don't expect it either way.

"being fine" =/= "for sure getting in" -- it means having no visible weaknesses that would lead to a clear rejection.

When you apply to Yale, I'd omit smaller items like attending the French student lunch and participation in diversity summit. This are one-time, one day things. List the substantive stuff, not the little things. The admissions officers have a lot to read.

How did you take 8 classes?

We actually have eight periods for classes. I only had 6 this past year because physics and calculus (AB+BC) were double-blocked.
