What Are My Chances?

I know these ‘chances’ emails have gotten old but I am extremely anxious to start the application process!

My gpa after this year will be a 3.8, possibly a 3.9 (weighted, 3.7 unweighted). I am retaking the SATs in June but my current scores are the following: math 660 writing: 670 and reading: 670.
I am a Native American student from the south.
I take all IB core classes except for math which is AP. I go to a large public school.
I am extremely involved in DECA, competing internationally twice and placing top ten. I also compete in FBLA, placing at district and state competition this year. I run cross country and track. National Honor Society, French Honor Society, and National English Honor Society. I work part time and participate in Co-Op. I will be participating in a summer program for college-bound Native Americans this summer. I expect pretty good teacher recs from junior year teachers.
Bucknell is my top choice but I probably will not apply early because I need to have financial aid options.

Thanks so much for any input!

I think you have a very good chance of being admitted. Your SATs, courseload, and ECs appear to be very solid. Being Native American should definitely help you since Bucknell is always looking to improve its diversity. I think it is a wise decision not to do ED since Bucknell carries a hefty price tag. Where in the south are you from? I'm the only person from Kentucky in my class.

Thanks for your feedback!

I'm from Virginia, about four hours away from the school.
My one issue with the Bucknell is the location. How do you get home other than driving? I couldn't find too much information on southbound transportation.

You can fly back back home. That's what I do. There's a shuttle to the Harrisburg airport, but I think the shuttle is only available during breaks. You can also ride on a charter bus. Some of my friends who live in Massachusetts have done that, but I'm not too sure how the service is setup. I don't know if you're aware that you can't have a car freshman year. So if you plan on getting home by driving, either your parents will have to pick you up or you can hitch a ride with someone else going to Viginia (there are sign up sheets in the student center).

Thanks so much for the info!

You're solid for all of the same reasons above =) Good luck with everything.

Thank you!

you have nice bling
