Hi banker77,

I feel bad that no one has chanced you yet, so I’ll chance you and bump you at the same time … but can you chance me too? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/538677-please-chance-me-i-d-really-really-appreciate.html

Your UW GPA of 3.87 is very good, but I can’t tell whether you’ve taken AP or Honors classes yet. If you have taken AP or Honors classes, that makes your GPA look even better. Your SAT of 2120 is also pretty good. Yoru ECs are pretty good, and I get the feeling that you’re very interested in history … otherwise you wouldn’t have volunteered at a “historical society” and “started a foundation to educate poeple about state’s history.” That’s very impressive, and I haven’t seen that alot here on CC. Your internship at several companies won’t hurt either.

Overall, you’re a good student, but I suggest that you add some safeties to your list.

Chances:
Penn: Reach
Duke: Slight reach
Princeton: Far reach
UVA IOS: Safety match OOS: Slight reach
Cornell: Slight reach
Vanderbilt: Slight reach

Good luck, and remember to chance me as well!

You’d have as good of a chance as anyone at these schools; but remember these schools have VERY low acceptance rates and admissions there can seem almost random. I’d add a couple of slightly less-selective (I hate to use the term safety for these) schools similar to BC, Bucknell, William & Mary, Davidson, Elon, etc.
