****What are my chances??****

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>I was just wondering what my chances would be of getting into University of Maryland - College Park. I'm an entering Senior this year. I also used to live there until 5 years ago.</p>

<p>Here what i have so far:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.1 w (i know its not so great, but only one aspect) <strong>It might also be up to 3.4w (it's a weird situation about transferring.)</strong>
SAT: 1860; 700 Math, 590 Writing, 570 Reading
ACT: 28
<em>by the way, i will be retaking both of those very soon</em></p>

<p>Next Year I'll be taking
AP Econ
AP Stats</p>

<p>I've already taken (didn't do so well though)
AP World History - 1
AP United States History - 2
AP Physics B - 3</p>

<p>I already took Computer Science at my local CC - got an A
now taking Visual Basic there as well.</p>

<p>Varsity Tennis for 2 Years
Track and Field for 2 Years
Cross Country for 1 year</p>

<p>Community Service: I also have been serving at my church every other week since February.</p>

<p>In about 3 clubs. I'm also planning on creating one this coming year.</p>

<p>Ethnicity: African American</p>

<p>So what do you think?</p>

<p>I think UMCP is a reach for you mainly because of your grades and test scores. Being a public institution, it tends to look heavily on more traditional criterias such as GPA and SAT scores. I am also applying here with a 3.45UW, 2010 SAT. GOOD LUCK</p>
