What are my chances??

<p>What does everyone think my chances are at getting into Cornell???</p>

-National Merit commended student
-Work at Old Navy 15+ hours/week
-50+ hours of volunteer work (volunteering at local elementary school and soup kitchen)
-7 years of travel soccer (team was ranked #1 in VA at one point)
-3 years JV soccer, 1 year Varsity (letterman)
-Virginia Math League participant since freshman year--3rd place in school comp.</p>

<p>VERY strong recommendations, very well written essay (by my AP english teacher's standards)</p>

<p>I would say low chance to just maybe, just. I don't really see any leadership positions in your EC's, and your scores ar positioned at the lower end of the acceptance ranges for cornell. My sat's are around yours but I also got a 33 on my ACT which I think would help me, on the otherhand, your SAT's and ACT are about equivalent, try and get one higher at least. GPA is also low I believe. From what I've heard here, like 3.75 to 3.8 is low end of the scale of what you should have for an ivy. Your course load may explain it though.</p>

<p>Also yes, what college applying too? Have you looked at admission requirements like Subject tests? You better sign up for some of those if you need them.</p>
