what are my chances?

Hey guys, I plan on applying to the College of LSA for a degree in Economics and to the Ross School of Business as a pre-admit.

Female out of state

Recalculated GPA: 3.8

ACT: 34 (36 Math, 34 Science, 32 English, 32 Reading)

SAT Math 2: 800

Extracurriculars:
JV Softball (9,10) (JV Softball Captain 10)
JV Tennis (11,12)
Spanish Club (9,10)
DECA (10, 11, 12) (10: 7th place at state, 11: 4th place at state)
FIRST Robotics (12) (The club is just being started so participation prior to senior year is impossible)

Volunteer Work: 75-100 hrs

Awards:
Scholar Athlete (9,10,11)
Highest Honors (11)

Work Experience: Tutor (11-present)

Alumni: Both of my grandparents attended the Ross School of Business, and my great-grandpa was in the business school's first graduating class.

You are probably going to get a hefty scholarship, or at least have a shot in getting into the honors college. You should definetly get in. I think you also have a 50-50 chance at being a Ross Pre-Admit. You should definetly apply.

i forgot to add that i’m also a member of NHS.

How many AP or honor classes did you take?

During my sophomore year I could only take Honors Algebra 2. I didn’t get into Honors English, and our school didn’t have any other honors or AP classes for me available to take that year. During my junior year I took AP Psychology, AP US History, Honors Spanish 4, Honors Physics, Honors Pre-Calc, and English. Senior year I plan to take AP Spanish 5, AP Calc BC, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Economics, Honors College Business, Literature, Composition, Government.

I would say safety.

GPA is fine (I had roughly a 3.8 as well), ACT is phenomenal. ECs are solid as well. Two things you need to do now:

1) Write good essays. Specifically, let your personality shine (cliche, I know). They can see that you are a good, responsible student from the rest of your app, so focus on non-academics in your essays (for instance, which ec did you enjoy most? Why? etc)

2) Apply Early Apply Early Apply Early Apply Early. Michigan uses rolling admissions. If they get your app early and have a lot of spaces left, they will be like “hey, she’s cool, good numbers, and we have a lot of spots. Sounds good.”

Nice job…good luck!
