<p>School type: Top public in Southern CA
Income level: high income area
School does not rank. The counselor will only give a school profile which gives a rough estimation of where you rank. I honestly don't even think the colleges look at that though. Last year two students that were ORMs got into an ivy league school and a top LACs with low top 10% rankings and no hooks, so yeah thats my opinion based on the evidence. The problem is we weight easy courses (i.e. marine bio Honors) as much as hard courses like Physics C AP.
Hooks: 25% Mexican but no connection to the mexican culture, and a white last name, so I can only put it as an added ethnicity. A very minor URM. I don't know if this is a hook, but my parents got divorced freshman year and the divorce is still ongoing. It's been pretty hard on my family and I have sometimes had to be help out my parents when they became too upset to make smart decisions. </p>
