What are my chances?

I got lazy and slacked off sophomore and junior year, so my gpa isn't good.
This was my GPA when I got my transcripts about two months, but we're getting our report card in a few days, so maybe it will change.
unweighted: 2.8
weighted: 3.2
=[
I got 4 A's and 2 B's this 9 weeks so I'm hoping to continue this for the rest of the year and bring up my GPA.

SAT: 1130 (r+m) 1730 (r+m+w) I'm taking it again in December and hope to get at least a 1200
ACT: 27. I will also be taking this again because if I get a 28 I qualify for 100% Bright Futures.

I really want to go UCF (I'm visiting this weekend, I'm so excited!) but will my low GPA stop me from getting in?

I don’t know… but with that ACT, you definitely have a shot at summer term, if not fall. Keep us updated when you visit the campus! I never got a chance to, and I want to know all about it! I’m applying tomorrow. Got a mediocre GPA (3.4 uw, 3.8 w, and 3.66 based on UCF’s scale, and a low 22 on the ACT.), so I’ll tell you if I hear anything from them.

But yea, just apply! ASAP!!

You will most likely be deferred for grades. They will want you to send a midyear transcript showing the improvement before you are accepted (which I expect that you would be).

Oh okay, thanks!
Mizzxvii, the campus was beautiful! I stayed Friday and Saturday night in the dorms with my friend who goes there, and it was great. I was a little overwhelmed when I saw the map because I thought it was a lot of walking, but it really isn’t bad at all. If you get accepted and plan on staying in the dorm, I say visit the campus first and visit all the dorms. You can see the floor plans and the videos they have online, but it really helps to see the dorms in person. I stayed in Libra, and visited a friend in Hercules, and they were so different. The only thing that scared me were the squirrels. My friend says they’re vicious. They’ll stay there and stare at you, and my friend’s roommate got attacked by a squirrel. I was O.O whenever I saw one.
I hope you get accepted! Let me know whenever you hear something from them.

Agreed. You will likely be deffered. There are 3.8 weighted students from our school who took 15 college level courses (IB and IB) with 1300+ SAT who still got deffered from UCF because they cracked in one or two classes (D or F grade). One of them got angry and removed his application from UCF 'cause he got in some other college that actually takes into account his amazing ECs and essays (his essay blew me away and his english teacher read it to the whole class it was crazy!).

I think that college is called Wesleyan.

Applying for the least popular major can help. lol
