I'm an international student from ethiopia-I've taken the SAT and my result is 1120/1600. I've planned to apply to Uchicago(this is my dream school), st. lawrence, macalester schools. I've also taken the TOFEL test(i'm waiting the results-I don't when it'll be out). We don't have a GPA here but still my transcript is 'B'. So can anyone suggest on my school choices. I choice other schools also for resons that they need international students. Anyone please suggest other schools speciall LACs-that need international students specially from my country. Please any comments are open.

I don’t think UChicago is going to work with 1120/1600 SAT or a B average GPA. Their students typically have much higher SATs…typically with 650+ in each section.

UChicago may be your “dream school,” but look at it this way. A dream can become a nightmare, if you find yourself overwhelmed because you are surrounded by other students who aren’t struggling as much as you might be.

What are your other choices besides UCh, Macalester, and St. L?
What will your likely major be?
Can your family pay for your education?

I’ve applied to other schools like Emory (because my friend told me that they need international students specially around my country), Hamilton, Colby, NYU AD( this school had a seminar last month in ethiopia and i really liked it except the place). Yeah, I know I’m struggling harder than students who are applying to Uchicago but still it’s like my soulmate(in relationship talk). My Family is definetly not paying for college. I chose Biochemistry to be my major. Please what are your recoomendations and suggestions for a student like me-is my school choice more than my capability? What schools can you suggest for me? Any views are accepted.
