Hey everyone, just wondering what you think of my chances of getting into UCSB..

4.06 GPA
26 ACT
Awaiting SAT Subj.
Competed in sports all 4 years
FFA for 2 years
CSF Lifetime Member
Worked some charity auctions, held some charity events, etc.

Major: Communications

I'm also an ELC member. I got a postcard guaranteeing my admission, so I'm pretty sure I'm in; just wanted to make sure :)

Also wondering; does anyone have info on changing majors at UCSB? After taking AP Gov and loving it so much my teacher really got me into Political Science. Unfortunately this was after I had sent my apps in. I noticed that the app said 'intended major', so it may not be official. How long do you have to wait before changing your major, if at all?

If you’re in ELC, then you’re 99% in. Too bad about Poly slo tho.=/

I think the way it works is that you’re a pre-major for your first year or two until you complete all the prerequisite classes to be in the main major. I’m pretty sure I heard changing your pre-major is as easy as changing it on the website (once you’re accepted). And btw if you send them a letter right now detailing the changes you want to make, you can still change your intended major. I forgot to say Im taking Econ AP second semester this year so I need to add that in.

Yea definitely a bummer about SLO…I thought both of our stats we’re good enough. UCSB is still a back up for me if I now get rejected from SLO for RD, but I was just making sure I was pretty much guaranteed to go to UCSB just in case. Good luck to everyone else as well!
