What are my chances?

My unweighted GPA is 4.0. By the time I graduate high school I will have taken about 15 AP Classes. My weighted GPA is like 4.5 plus. I am ranked either 3rd or 2nd. out of a class of 450. Our transcript hasnt yet come out but I know I will be either 3 or 2 and 1st would be a LONG shot. My scores I know are weak: 610 on critical reading 740 on math and 780 on reading. A 2130 overall. My ACT score is 31 with writing. I have no SAT IIs. My ECs include Varsity tennis co captain 11th and 12th Varsity Letter both years. Secretary of beta club and secretary of national honors society. Vice president of Future Business Leaders of America FBLA. Community service for poor vilage in India over summer. Went to the Summer Governor's Honor Program in Georgia as a sophomore for Math. Key Club. Varsity Math team since Sophomore Year. Lettered in Math Team 2 years. JV fall baseball team for my high school. JV Fall tennis team 9th grade. No other majors ECs. Colleges I am applying to are Emory, Vanderbilt, Duke, Yale, Northwestern, Washington University in St Louis, Upenn. What percentage chance do I have to get in into each of these schools. I iwould really appreciate it if you guys would take the time out for me and help me with this. Thanks!

Knowing those top schools, I’d say that you will be a little below average. I mean, you will have a chance, but anything is possible. You’ll never known until you just submit that application. I know a kid who got into Harvard with a HORRIBLE gpa (probably below 3.5). Then again, it’s only horrible to Harvard.

Just a life tip–it’s hard to get people to read things if you write in paragraph form. Use bullet points!

Though you may have a good shot to be admitted to at least one of the schools you listed, you need to apply to a couple of safeties you wouldn’t mind attending as well. All of those schools are reaches simply because of their admit rates.

haha yeah about the paragraph thing i did not even think about it. and yeah i figured these would be slight reaches. My safety is UGA which I have already gotten into for EA. My first choice is Emory especially because it is close to my hometown in Atlanta.

any other opinions?

need more opinions please

bumpppppppppp

Low match for all, although I would say UPenn is pretty much impossible. But that’s just me.

CHance me

bumppppppp

i definitely think you need to get a few safer schools, but then again you’re looking pretty good. I think you’d have a good shot at Northwestern and Vanderbilt.

p.s. I don’t really know much about your first choice school, so I can’t really help you on that

You have a 1350/1600. Raise that CR score, if possible, man! If you can get to above 1400 you will increase your chances around the board. But besides that, you have fine scores! You should be in good shape with apps as you have some decent ECs. You don’t have too much to worry about for any school.

Chance me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/840709-start-new-year-right-chance-me-ill-chance-back-i-swear.html</a></p>

thank you guys very much. it really helps to get everyone’s opinions. and yeah it makes me so mad but i just cannot increase my CR score. 610 is the best CR score i have ever gotten, including practice and diagnostic tests.

I would love to hear more opinions from others!

and my safe school is UGA ive already gotten into there.

I agree with idad and cgb8007

Chance back please

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/845309-chance-me-por-favor-urm-d.html</a></p>

I think you have a good chance for Emory and Vanderbilt. It actually sucks that your CR is so low compared to your Math and Writing though, because the other schools are pretty top notch.

And if your Safety is UGA, then you must be a GA resident. Do you mind chancing me back for GT? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/844354-need-chance-georgia-tech.html#post1063870086</a></p>
