Iranian from private Catholic school in California, if any of that plays a factor in admissions

Reach schools: Georgetown, Cornell, Columbia, Tufts, Johns Hopkins
Target schools: Boston College, Carnegie Mellon, Colgate, UC Berkeley, UVA, U Michigan
Safeties: Villanova, Boston University, Holy Cross, William & Mary, Wesleyan, Wake Forrest

What are you looking for in a school (size, location)?

In terms of ILoveNewYork’s response, the reach and target schools are good. However, I would not say many of the safeties are appropriate. William and Mary (OOS), Wesleyan, and Wake Forest are all too competitive to be considered true safeties.

Thanks iLoveNewYork15, but what could I do to make those reach schools more likely? In other words, what’s holding me back?

Kind of depends on what field of study you want to go into. schools differ in the caliber of their programs. let us know.

I’m interested in school with high acceptance rates to medical school.

Tufts and Holy Cross get around 85% of applicants into medical school.

while you’ve got some good stats, i think you’re putting the cart before the horse…the question is: what school would be a good fit for me, not here’s my stats, now let’s pick a school. what are you looking for? big, small, urban, suburban, rural, greek life, strong liberal arts or interest in one specific area, professorial contact, co-op programs, internships, block classes, 4-1-4 program, warm, cool, or cold weather okay, n, s, e, or west, distribution requirements or not, major name brand or do you think outside the box, need-blind, is money an issue, religious affiliation, etc.etc.etc…
