Hello. I am currently a Junior in HS and I want to attend Tech in the fall of 2011. What do yall think my chances are? I'm in-state.

Class Rigor: Have taken either Honors, Gifted, or AP classes all throughout High School. I have taken only 4 AP's so far (APHG, APWH, AP Lang, and APUSH) but I am taking 6 next year (AP Stat, AP Calc AB, AP Bio, AP Econ, AP Am Gov, and AP Lit).

Continue working to finish off this year with the highest grades possible to give you GPA a boost. It would probably be worthwhile to try to improve or SAT score. You may also want to consider taking the ACT to see if you perform better on one test than the other.

Your current GPA is low. Only 25% of students admitted for Fall 2009 had a GPA below 3.67 on Georgia Tech’s scale, but getting A’s in AP classes will give your GPA its needed boost. Your SAT scores are slightly low, but should be high enough for admission. Your extra-curricular involvement is strong enough for admission. Right now, I would say you have a decent chance for admission, but it is not guaranteed. If your can bring your GPA up to the 3.7ish range and improve your test scores a bit you will be much more competitive for admission. Keep up the hard work!

Thanks for your response! Yeah I will definately try to improve my GPA and SAT score. Does anyone else wanna chance me? GP-Burdell?

I hate that argument…only 25% of students admitted for Fall 2009 had a GPA below 3.67 because probably double the amount of kids applied with higher. That stat doesn’t mean anything tbh. I say you are a match, but you definitely need to up those SAT scores.
