I know these are getting kind of old and annoying, but i'm stressing out and would just like to see if I had any sort of chance of getting into Notre Dame.

By the time I graduate next year, I would have taken 9 AP courses. (Soph: Stat, Junior: Enviro, Calc AB, and Bio, Senior: Calc Bc, Macro, Spanish, Physics: N/M, Physics: E/M). So far, i've managed to get an A/ A- in all of them except for one B+ in AP Bio :/ My gpa at the end of my junior year should be slightly above a 4.2 ( so its obviously weighted).

I'm waiting to hear back for my June sat scores, and I'm hoping for at least a 2100. I'll keep you guys updated. I thought math and writing were jokes, but I struggled with the vocab section. My May subject test scores were awful- 670 on math 1 and 650 on Bio. I'm planning to take the ACT in September.

Here are some of my extracurriculars:
- assistant teach first graders at my church
-volunteer at Bible Camp
-volunteer at Pedia Manor (a home where children on respirators and nebulizers live)
-volunteer at Buckingham Housing ( a local shelter home for abused and underprivileged children)
* Youth Counselor
* Adopt a family every holidays
*organized school supply/ backpack drives for the past 4 years
*Help the kids with hw, crafts, etc
- was a teen leader for Soldiers for Hope... the founder became very sick though, so I am starting my own soldier organization.. I've also done Soldiers' Angels
-play club travel soccer
*also help out at the annual Spring into Summer soccer tournament and the world cup 3 on 3 tournament
-play varsity ice hockey (captain next year)
-been working in a doctor's office since 8th grade
-babysit 2-4 times a week
-member of Key Club, NHS, SHS (secretary), OEG ( hopefully leader next year), Spanish Club, and Student Government Senate ( if I get accepted!)
-Math leagues

If I forgot to mention anything, I'll be sure to update my list of extracurriculars!

Again, I apologize for making ANOTHER one of these threads. Thanks for taking the time to read this!

You have a solid application with great stats in a number of areas - don’t worry about one B+ trust me - as long as you were taking challenging classes, which you were…the only thing is don’t spread yourself too thin - it doesn’t sound like you do, but make sure that you are truly making an impact in all your clubs - again it sounds like you are doing that, but next year if you can’t devout your all to a club, try to drop it - one of your essays should be about the Buckingham House I think - great activity that you are doing and a great aid to society

good luck

Good point! I was planning to join the Young Republicans Club and a few additional ones next year, but I no longer plan on it. And I haven’t thought about my essay yet, but that is a great idea! Thanks so much!

hawkswim is right on the money with his observations. Rigor of courses is the first factor in admissions. SAT and ACT scores respectively in the range of 2100 and 32 put you in the competitive applicant pool. A true passion about what you do and why you do it in EC’s is very important to Notre Dame. Show that in a well written essay and how it fits in with becoming part of the ND community and you will be well on your way to South Bend.

PM me anytime…I am assuming the “pa” in pacollegebound21 means Pennsylvania? Let me know if that’s not the case. Son is an incoming ND freshman for the class of 2014 from western Pennsylvania.

Okay thanks so much guys! I’m stressing out about college already!

And yes, I’m from Pennsylvania… Congrats for your son!!

Would you advise me to apply early or wait for regular admission?

That’s a perfect question for your local admission counselor to answer. They are the best source for that information. Now is a great time to introduce yourself to him/her - (in this particular case her). The admission counselor representing Pennsylvania students is absolutely fantastic to work with.

what i would do is prepare everything as if you are going to apply early and then contact the representative in early/mid september - if you email her know she may forget about you and then you would have to kind of nag her to refresh her memory. If you ask closer to the deadline, then you will be fresh in her mind - but there is quite a bit of preparation to do (i.e. essays, recommendations, etc) if you are going to apply early, so act like you are and then if you decide not to, you have it all done already.
