<p>I go to an elite school in Maryland, whose students generally go on to great schools. I was wondering if someone can give me some insight as to how realistic admission Fordham is--in my particular case.</p>
<p>I'm a rising junior.</p>
<p>I had a cumulative 3.28 in 9th grade and a 3.52 in 10th grade--an upward trajectory.
I hope to have at least a 3.7-4.0 this upcoming year. This year I'll be taking AP English, AP US History, and AP Music</p>
<p>I am African-American and own one of the most lucrative minor-owned business in the state. I am also on the board of Kids Helping Needy Kids, Inc., a charitable organization to which I give much of my time and energy. I am a 3-year U.S. Congressional intern. (I started summer before my freshman year--without any special connections)I am also actively involved in the SGA--I am VP of the student body.</p>
<p>So, with my extra curricular activites, estimated 3.5 cumulative, and a hopefully high SAT score, will I get in to an Ivy League school? Perhaps I'll even to early decision!</p>

<p>Admissions is based on SAT and GPA and EC"s in the community. Plus your essay. Its too soon to tell. Fordham generally prefers kids with uw gpa’s of 3.5 cumulative or higher. However, exceptions are made for various reasons, including the rigor of the school and curriculum you selected. </p>
<p>Work hard this year. Don’t slack off. Colleges place higher emphasis on your grades in Junior year than any year in high school, particularly if you apply EA. They will see Senior grades later. So do well THIS year. Prepare for the SAT and score well…as in above 1200/1600 and preferably 1300 or better. Have solid and consistent EC’s. Its better to have one really good EC than a bunch you quit. Good luck.</p>
<p>Fordham should have been in the Ivy League once upon a time, but that is another story for another time.</p>

<p>I just told another student this, but I will tell you as well…</p>
<p>I’m a rising senior at Fordham, and having worked in undergraduate admissions previously, you should know that all aspects of an application factor into an admissions officer’s decision. Therefore, there’s no real way of knowing, based on scores and GPA’s, whether you will be admitted or not. Everything is a factor, and until an admissions officer sits down and reads the whole of your application, nobody can really assess “what your chances are.”</p>
<p>None of us can really tell you whether you’ll get in or not because we haven’t read your stuff, and we’re not admissions officers. Put your TRUE self into your application, and just do your best!</p>
<p>And I would definitely recommend applying Early Action because you find out sooner and it isn’t binding at Fordham. I did!</p>
