I am also a minority.
I am considering applying to the more competive schools such as Harvard, UPenn, Dartmouth, Columbia and Williams. What are my chances?

Hey med167, your grades and rank are great…and your SAT I’s and II’s are decent for the schools you’re looking at. I’d consider retaking Math II, because most ivy applicants have a 750+ in that subject test. Your EC’s are decent, but you should try to show more leadership in them. You mentioned that you are a minority, are you a URM, because this could significantly up your chances.
Chances wise I’d say all your colleges are reaches to some degree (they’re reaches for everyone  ) but:
Harvard, Dartmouth- High Reach
Columbia, Williams, UPenn-Medium Reach

-If you can retake SAT I and get 2250+, or get try ACT and get a 33/34 your chances will boost significantly. Also if you are Hispanic/Black or another URM, you have a shot at any of the schools listed. Good luck to you :)

If you can, chance me back:

Thanks. Have done. What if I am an URM? I don’t want to get into a school just because of that.
