Looking to publish a set of modern English poems I wrote earlier this year (don't know if this is worth mentioning here, but in any case)

have yet to take SATs, but I am aiming (realistically speaking) for 2200 and above

Schools: UPenn, Dartmouth, Swarthmore, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, UC Berkeley for Chinese(or East Asian Studies)

I don’t understand your data. are you an international student from china?

My IB was 36 (taken more than 10 years ago) and I was accepted at 3 ivies and some top privates such as duke, rice, mudd, bowdoin among others. your 38 IB points should be a booster. your chances at top privates are depending on the outcome of your sat I and ECs.

yes im an international, but not from china.

i have 3 options now, do advice:

1) Proceed with Law school, then transfer after 1st year
2) Proceed with studying Chinese locally, then transfer after 1st year
3) Proceed with gap year

why won’t you take up law in the UK first and then proceed to MA in asian studies in america after your law studies? a law degree is a more prestigious degree. you can study chinese as a non-degree anyways.

i don’t believe that I have adequate interest in Law. my parents hope that i study law though. to me, undergraduate life should be an experience and not a chore
