I'm a high school senior and I was wondering what my chances of admissions were at:

Cornell,Princeton, Harvard, Upenn, Vanderbilt, Columbia, Dartmouth
The thing is I moved to the states from Canada beginning of my junior year, so my GPA and grades, do not match together so I am unranked. However my GPA is a 3.8 out of 4

SAT II scores: (650 Biology 680 Math I 640 English literature)

Junior year:
Ap Bio (scored a 3)
Ap Eng (scored a 3)
Senior year

Ap Eng
Ap Physics B

I'm also black and live in a single parent home with 2 brothers, I am to be blunt, poor and have written about so in my college essay ( living in shelter) I also am getting a letter of recommendation from the Professor who I did research with and he is an Alum of Cornell. I really appreciate any input, Thanks!

Bump Bump Bump, come on please commet

In my opinion, your gpa and sat scores aren’t going live up to those of the other, perfect applicants applying to the ivy’s. Considering your ec’s I would still apply but definitely have some back ups.

Yes, I do have some back ups and I understand I have slim chances. Thanks for the response though

good luck, and you can always try as a transfer student

Come on, 45 views and no one comments

Actually, since you are an URM, I think that you have a decent shot at some of these universities.

I’d agree with the above poster. Add a couple colleges in the next tier of admissions selectivity to make sure you have some choices. It is impossible to predict admissions to Harvard, Princeton and Yale.

^Agreed. Make sure that you apply to some matches and safeties as well. You only have one so far (Vandy).

Yea, I have University of North Texas, U Texas, Texas A&M, University of Toronto, Mcmaster, and University of British Columbia as my safety-ish schools

Under represented Minority… ie Blacks, Hispanics, and other races that are not so numerous in University

oh and Native Americans as well

Do international students from third world countries count as URMs?

Your statistics look great. Mine are not much different. 2220 in SAT I (CR:650, M:770, W:800), SAT II Physics: 800, Mathematics Level II:800. I have modest ECs and my recommendations will be somewhat above average. I am ranked in the top 1% in my high school and am from south asia. what do you think my chances are at Rice University and Purdue?

I think ur chances for both of those schools are very high almost sure even for rice
