im really interested in UC-boulder please let me know what are my chances, should i even bother to apply? or what can i do to improve my chances? what's the min sat score should i aim for to be a strong candidate?

Yes! you should definitely apply! I live in Boulder, and it sounds like you would be a pretty good fit for CU. I know tons of people who have gotten in and who go to CU, and a lot of them had worse stats that you, so I definitely think you have a good chance. Boulder is a great place, and everyone I know at CU really likes it.
Good Luck!

You have alot of interesting ECs but CU is a heavily numbers-driven admission process. Minority status will help as CU is eager to increase its diversity. You need to contact an admissions rep - they have regional assignments so there is one for Texas - and discuss your application with them. They can help you.

thank you KYST17, i hope your right!
drb i know my sat score is horribly low but i am currently taking an sat course and will be retaking it in december. I’d like to apply early admission but am not sure if CU will recieve my december sat scores b4 they review my application. should i wait till i have my final scores to apply, or do i have a better chance if i apply early?

I think you should definitely apply early decision. It is not binding, and I think you would have a better chance of getting admitted. I was on collegweeklive.com today, and one of the CU Boulder reps was online, and she said the range of the GPA was 3.3-3.9, so your GPA is a little low. But that does not mean you will not get admitted. I second what the previous poster said, contact your regional rep and talk with them about your chances. By the way, my son is a freshman there this year and he is having a great time. The campus is so beautiful, and there is something to do for everyone…no matter what your interest…And the academics are great too!
