great reccomandations from the teachers and the vice principal

what are my chances?...

0% because you posted on the MIT board and spelled chances wrong in the title. Better luck next time, chap.

I forgot to change the Harvard at the start to mit.
I posted the same message on the Harvard board.
In regards of the spelling mistakes, I have a wireless keyboard which her batteries need to be replaced so occasionally letters are spelling. This post was corrected by Microsoft word spell check. Are you satisfied?.. Regardless I think you took hard, are you a student at mit?

No, I’m just a grumpy applicant. Anyways, chancing, in my opinion, is useless due to MIT’s holistic admissions process.

Well I think you have a pretty good shot. Your ECs seem awesome–Israeli Defence Forces? Woaaah. :)

Good Luck!

holistic admissions process. what do you mean by that?..
I already had the interview and it want out great the interview said and I am quoting
“you seem like an mit guy” and the he said that he will strongly recommend me.
from statistic every year 50 Israeli apply to mit and 6 get in. the only thing I can thing of another applicant will have better than me is the sat1 and my does not even require it from international students so as far as testing requirements I have
two perfect sat subjects and an ok toefl 100.
the minimum by mit requirements is 90 . recommended 100

sorry for asking two many questions :-)

Holistic means that they look at the applicant as a whole–not just numbers like SAT and GPA. Good luck with your application =]!

nope .

quiteVALid appears to be ■■■■■■■■. I think that your situation withe the IDF is really incredible/unique. Also, two perfect scores on the subject tests is great. Go for it. I could see a really interesting essay forming from either the IDF or magic/science experiences. You should note that most of the people who are saying “nope” or “0%” are just worried since you’re strong competition! :D

Unlike the U.S., Israel has a mandatory service requirement. Thus all of the OP’s peer applicants will also be veterans - many with technical backgrounds (the IDF is among the most technologically advanced in the world). Thus it will be important for the OP to make clear how that experience will bring benefits to the MIT community and clarity to his/her (the IDF conscripts males and females*) future goals.

I once had a marketing manager working for me that was here on a green card. She was one of the nicest, most gentle people you’d ever hope to meet. So it was a little disconcerting to see the picture on her desk next to those of her husband and son from her IDF days dressed in military uniform and carrying an automatic weapon.

Thanks people.
All of your answers give me a view of what to look forward in march.
I’m applying to the class o 2014 so knowing if I’m or not is not far
best of luck to you all :)

Listen, I think you have a pretty good chance. I was just ind of grumpy at the time of posting. I didn’t mean to sound like a ■■■■■. That was not my intention in the least.
