Kind of depressed looking at the other people's ECs...rate mine as poor, below average, average, above average, stellar (ha)...im a bit concerned (applying to private schools next year)

Well yeah...I know. But still, some of them are. besides, who woudl take the time to make up all of that stuff and constantly reply seriously to their posts? no one woudl even know that they are lying...(and thus defeating the purpose of not telling the truth or making stuff up)

well my job was only 3.5 months...ill get another one though soon. and my sport is only in the spring...my winters are kind of nothing, except for piano and volunteering (kinda just starting that)

Above average. Being a referee can count as leadership, especially if you give examples in your essays or if references support your leadership role. As a referee, you have to deal with ethical and leadership challenges. You also have to be responsible and calm and thoughtful under difficult situations.

Consider this, lolok: I have NO EC's whatsoever to speak of, right now, excepting a job for a period of two weeks last year (freshman year), and some independent work on my own (mostly on my computer; programming, system administration, the like).

haha, i have PLENTY of stories, as all referees tend to have...
Iguess the main concern i have now is that my number of hours per week is kind of low...i mean piano is 30-45 min a day, plus lessons per week, and that's all i really have during the fall season...i dunno i feel a bit worried

Heck my ecs suck too but you know what, screw ecs. No other country in the world puts any emphasis AT ALL on ecs. I'd say your ecs are decent if you have good test scores and gpa. My ecs are kind of like urs so I think your in good shape. What are your test scores and gpa like neways?
