Hey I was just wondering what my odds were of getting in with my current stats.

I am entering senior year and right now my GPA is 3.3 unweighted

SAT Math: 800
SAT CR: 650
SAT WR: 600
SAT Total: 2050

ACT: 31

And do AP scores matter? I got a 4 in American History, 3 in Biology and a 2 in AP Comp Sci B (Strange because I got straight 4.0s in my AP CS class)

Georgia Tech does not consider AP scores for admissions purposes. For more information on how you will be evaluated you can visit the following site: [Georgia Institute of Technology :: Undergraduate Admission :: Freshman Application Review Process](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission)

Your SAT/ACT scores are average to slightly above average for Tech and your GPA is far below the first quartile for Tech. ([Georgia Institute of Technology :: Undergraduate Admission :: Quick Facts](<a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission)). Unless you have strong EC’s and/or a very strong essay, I would not expect you to gain admission based on your low GPA, but it doesn’t hurt to apply.

Is my GPA really that far below? Just to clarify its 3.3 out of 4 not 3.3 out of 6

Yes, most people are going to have GPA’s in the mid-high 3 range (unweighted).

Mid 50% GPA 3.67 - 4.04
Mid 50% SAT 1310 - 1470
Mid 50% ACT 29 - 33

3.3 is very low for Tech, and Tech seems to be getting stronger with it standards every year. This does not mean you cannot get in, but it is not likely. You would need a really strong hook to make up for the GPA.

I doubt you’ll get into Tech or Michigan with that GPA, but you should be able to get into VaTech.
