I was academically dismissed from Kingsborough Community College due to poor grades. I have a lot of W's on my transcript from classes I didn't officially withdraw from. I filed a petition for the upcoming fall semester but they denied it. I'm not quite sure what to do now as I don't know which schools would accept me if they saw my transcript. I was an honor student back in high school and I'll admit it was due to me slacking off that caused all this. But this is all in the past now and I have learned from my mistakes. I was planning on applying to some schools as a freshman since I am still an undergraduate but they will most likely find out I previously attended a college before. With my record they will most likely be turned off. I really want to get back into school so that I may continue pursing my degree in biology and put the past behind me because I know that I'm better than this. Is there anyone that has a similar experience or if anyone has any advice for me on what to do I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

How long have you been out of school? If it has been more than one semester, what have you been doing with yourself that can help the university see that you are planning on being more diligent in your studies. I am sure that there are any number of schools which will give you a chance but you have to convince them.
