I'm an international student, and I'm planning to take up an undergraduate Computer Science Engineering program. Briefly put, my profile looks something like this:

School scores - We don't have the GPA system here. Its only percentages declared yearly. Mine look something like this ( I don't quite know how it converts to the American system)

EC's - We had no clubs in school (nor were we allowed to form any), and a notion like community service does not exist. However, activities I've pursued and which my school certified include local inter-school debates, quizzes, essay writing etc; and a certification from an IT Company as to my having a command over C and C++ programming languages.

I want to know which universities I have a chance of getting into. I realise there's nothing exceptional in my profile, but that's as may be. I have my own shortlist of colleges I plan/hope for, but I would like this forum's opinion.

My physics test has a perfect score - sorry for the 775 thing - I was’nt paying attention to what I was typing.

My GPA is not a potential problem - its a definite problem. The point is, I don’t know what kinda colleges I can expect - I gather that a lot of emphasis is placed on GPA and EC’s in the States. People around me are advising me to apply to everything that’s out there - which is a bit of a bore. How about - let’s say, 5 places which are good choices for me??

Cost - well, i definitely prefer a scholarship, but according to my researches, non US citizens are not entitled to aid from any college or the US government.

My grades compared to my class:

9th and 10th grade i was among the top 10 in my class of 40; and first in the school in english in both years.

11th - 20th in my class of 70.

12th - slipped badly; 45th in a class of 75.
