What are my RD Chances? Selective schools

I'm senior at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, MD. My school does not have class rankings. I've got strong essays which I really poured my heart into and I have two great optional references, had what I thought was a good interview when I flew to the campus in October, good teacher references and a strong musical supplement (15 minutes of classical piano). I also submitted some scientific research I did with a lab during my NIH internship. I'm a little worried, though, because my grades have had something of a downward trend, and I submitted a written explanation of how some anxiety problems and therapy slowed me down a little in school. Any idea as to my chances? Accepted into my safety (UMDCP) and rejected by my highest reach school (Pomona)

EC's: Mostly the piano. 12 years experience, DOZENS of awards and competition prizes. I also have done two service trips to Mexico to do charity work (with church). I have spent two summers as a summer intern in a diabetes laboratory at the National Institutes of Health. I have medical research published in scientific journals, the paper was presented at the American Diabetes Association meeting for 2006. During Junior year, I held down a job, 15~20 hours a week, at a organic food store. For child development class during the year, I volunteer to teach preschool kids for about 5 hours per week and have done this for three years.

It's hard to believe you didn't get into Pomona. You could be looking at a three-way WL at Wesleyan, Tufts and Amherst and an acceptance at Claremont-McKenna. Berkeley may be tough for an out of stater, too.

What's your rank? It's hard to give you an opinion when we don't know how well you've performed academically among your peers.

my school doesn't rank. i'm guessing i'm in the top 25% but I have no way of knowing

Well, if your school doesn't rank -- as my didn't -- they must send at least some kind of School Report/Profile. For example, in lieu of rank, my h.s. sent in the highest, lowest, mean, and average grade for each class in jr and sr year. That way schools could tell how well I did in each class with respect to my peers.
