Halloo, everybody,
I'm an Egyptian junior planning 2 attend an American U, and I'm kind of aiming at the big ones (MIT, Harvard, Yale...)
I scored an SAT of 2050
I also got these scores on model SAT sub. tests:
Math: 750
Biology: 730
World history: 690
My GPA is 3.90
And my school doesn't give the IB diploma, it's just affiliated with an international school in NY..
As I read the profiles of current or prospective MIT students, I find outstanding people with scores thar are dramatically higher than mine..
Could anyone pleaase tell me what my shots are?? How much higher should I score?? And whether I'll have 2 transfer to a school that offers IB??

Unless you have a special talent or outstanding EC, you may aim lower…
To be more specific there are a lot of great colleges for undergaduate studies… My advice is to attend a strong LAC and then move to a strong graduate program (eg MIT, Yale ect)…
So you might take a look:
Middlebury
Williams
Amherst
Pomona
Swarthmore
Oberlin
Grinnel
Colby
Harvey Mudd

Oh and do you need financial aid???

PS: The competition for Yale, harvard ect is very high among international due to their prestige… LACs are a really great academic pathways… and if you search in deep the colleges that I suggested you, you’ll see that their graduates attend the best graduate programs in the US…
Good Luck

Thanx 4 replying ![]()
Heck, yeah, I need Some form of financial aid…,
I know it’s hard 2 get myself some American aid (if not impossible)
But there are some private egyptian organizations that would only fund me if I got into a top U (MIT, Yale…)
it’s ironic, cuz if I get accepted in a U that already offers me aid, my country’s gonna pay 4 my whole ride…
Would any of those schools u mentioned offer me some form of scholarships?? Fin. aid?? Work/ study thing??
Also, are they crazy expensive like the six-tabs-prize tag of any top school??

Middlebury, Amherst and Williams gonna give u a huge financial aid (if they accept you)…
All the others will give u great or maybe super great aid (again… if they want u in)…
