Hi! I need some help figuring out how to categorize the colleges on my list. I'm not sure which ones are safeties, which ones are matches, and which ones are reaches. Help me out please?

Schools:
Whitman, Scripps, Lewis & Clark, Colorado College, Bowdoin

Stats:
UW GPA: 3.92 (4.0 junior year, no APs offered at my school)
ACT: 33 (29M 32E 34R 36S)

ECs:
Theatre - 3 years (75+ hours per show)
Yearbook - 4 years (president of the club)
Tutor - 2 years
Student mentor - 2 years
Internship at a startup - this summer and the rest of this year

Other:
Recs: Should be amazing. I'm getting one from my English teacher and one from my math teacher. Both have taught me for at least 3 years.
Essay: I have a very compelling story that I hope to be able to show through my essay. I've been working on it for weeks.
School: I go to a very rigorous college prep school. I am one of 4 people with a 4.0 GPA from this last year.

Honestly, I see no reason why any of this schools with the exception of Scripps and Bowdoin would not be matches.
Whitman (Hey, I wanna go to that school too! Are a Washington/PNW person?) - Match
Lewis and Clark - Match
Colorado College - High Match
Scripps - High Match
Bowdoin - Reach
Bowdoin is testing option, so getting in might be tougher because your extra-curriculars have to shine. In addition, your courseload isn’t difficult but that is not your fault. I wish you the best of luck.

Yeah, I live in Washington Thanks for your input!! I’m surprised you put Scripps above Whitman, though, since I actually think Whitman is a better school. It’s my top choice at the moment (Bowdoin is mainly on there because I felt the need for a reach school, honestly). So…yay! Best of luck to you too!

Thank you very much! Yeah, I agree. Problem is, I really don’t want to leave the west coast unless I’m completely in love with a school. I’ll only really consider Bowdoin if I love it when I visit. There just aren’t enough top-notch LACs in the California/Oregon/Washington area :(

I’m a Washington person too! high five

And it depends on what you mean by top-notch. Plenty are good enough…not a great way to look at it but it is what it is. Reed (despite what the rankings say…) is one of the best and more liberal arts programs in the nation with strong future PhD. statistics. Whitman is GREAT, University of Puget Sound is strong, and the Claremont Colleges are amazing.

Ahh, Reed. I visited it a few months ago and I didn’t like it at all. People were smoking everywhere, I got glared at, and people overall just seemed super depressed. I talked to a girl who went there and she was miserable. So I don’t think that place is for me, haha. UPS was nice, but not my kind of atmosphere. I think I’ve pretty much looked at all the best schools at this point, which I guess makes narrowing down my list easier, which is good I guess. Do you think I’d be alright just applying to those 5 schools? Or even just 4 (if Bowdoin doesn’t appeal to me)? I don’t want to be left with nowhere to go, and Lewis & Clark is my safety school, so I don’t really want to go there unless I have to.
