I would just like a second opinion on how much of a scholarship people would expect me to get at Providence College because I could really use the money. Here are my stats:

SAT 800 M 710 CR 670 W
SATII 760 Math L2 750 Chem
Unweighted GPA around 3.6, weighted about 5.0
Top 8% of class or so
Captain of math team
Varsity tennis 4 years
1st chair oboe in band and orchestra, section leader
karate instructor (volunteer) 5 hours a week for 2 years,
karate (5 years) - black belt
13 years of girl scouts
I work 20 hours a week
I'm also a female looking to major in Math

Thanks!

Looks like you would qualify for something, either in the Liberal Arts Honors program or one of their leadership/academic scholarships. The award of money was sent with the acceptance for EA. My D was offered the St. Catherine of Sienna Scholarship thru LAH – her gpa is 3.84 unweighted, top 5% of her class, similar EC’s to yours.

i would think you have a really good shot!

Haha… just thought I’d let you guys know they didn’t offer me anything. I’m at Tulane where they gave me 17K a year. And I could’ve gone to Wellesley of Carnegie Mellon for less than PC. That was definitely the first no to get sent back.

Your stats are better than mine were…I got nothing at PC and I got 17k at Tulane too! Hope you’re having a great time.

Oboeninja- very surprised that you didn’t get anything… D is waiting to hear. Thanks for the follow up post & hope you are loving Tulane!

Oh wait, I got 17k elsewhere, Tulane was 20k.

livesinnewjersey - good luck to your daughter!
