What are my UCLA chances?

Hi, I’m a junior. I have yet to take the sats but I scored a 182 (1820) on the psats. I have a 4.25 weighted gpa. I have taken the most challenging courses available each year. However, chemistry and calulus have been rough so I’m worried about getting into UCLA. Senior year I plan to take Ap psychology, ap english, and ap political science.

Conclusion:
So this is it so far. I plan on starting a film club at school. I am also taking a dual enrollment class with the community college called Film, Video and Society. I will be taking honors stats next year in place of calculus, and I’m still debating whether I want to take ap political science, honors economics, or honors creative writing. My intended majors are film production or business management with a concentration in cinematic management. That being said, please tell me my chances of getting into UCLA ! Thanks!

First, calculate your UC GPA. Here is the link: http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

From my opinion for UCLA: 4.3+ is very good, exceptional ---- 4.29-4.1 is good—4.0-4.1 is OK—3.9-4.0 is below average—3.89 and below is a significant disadvantage AKA a low chance of acceptance.

I am going to chance you with the 1820 on the SAT.

UCLA: Low Reach-Reach

I think that your gpa is somewhat lacking with the 3 C’s and couple of B’s. Also, the SAT score is under the number of what UCLA normally accepts. Try to aim for 2000+. Your extracurricular seem like a laundry list (from my perceptive). However they are considered “good” for the standards of UCLA and other applicants. Try to work on your essays to make them as best as possible. You should start early with this so you have time. If you can, do something productive over the summer like getting a job or taking classes at the local college. I wish you the best of luck!
