Wanting to stay in-state (of VA) - what other good colleges offer engineering besides VT? I know VCU. JMU has a general engineering degree program. Any other info.? Thanks.

Old Dominion has a lot of engineering programs. I think almost as many as Virginia Tech. I was down there this year though and was not very impressed with the campus. The engineering buildings were extremely old and the campus is right on the edge of Norfolk so the traffic is bad.

UVA has engineering.

I've decided to turn down VT for VMI. Majoring in mechanical engineering.

Christopher Newport University
George Mason University
Hampton University
Norfolk State University
Old Dominion University
Virginia Commonwealth University
Virginia Military Institute
Virginia State University
Washington And Lee University
University of Virginia

They all have 4 year Engineering programs from what I understand

VCU has greatly expanded engineering in the past few years and I believe, is one of their central focuses now. But as ODU is with Norfolk, VCU is with Richmond. City definitely blends in to the campus.
