What are required to be memorized on SAT Chemistry?

I am currently 1/3 through Barron’s prep book and man these questions are asking a lot of specific things like “activities series/chart”, “solubility rules”, “common ion/compound charges”, or just specific things/names. I have taken Honors Chemistry, so I do find that I have some gap in between … Actually tbh, I feel like its pretty hard so far… So, what are your suggestions/views? Thanks guys

Oh almost forgot, what about the formulas too? Like Gas Law, etc… Do I need to remember those too?

I’m pretty sure the Chem SAT does NOT provide a formula sheet (double check me but I’m pretty sure). So memorize those. Also because you have to work at a relatively fast pace. I took Honors Chemistry and was able to get 800, but I had to study extra to learn the nuclear chemistry section bc we didn’t cover that in class. Maybe take a break from reading the book and take a practice test again, see how it goes. The practice tests helped me the most, because I realized what I didn’t know enough/how slow I was working.

Yes you do need to know most of the things you mentioned especially the most important/common examples. You don’t need to know them in excruciating detail but the general trend or rule. Take the activity series: if you remember that the metals you make jewelry with ( silver, gold, platinum) are below hydrogen while all other metals are above that might be enough. Keep studying. If you google specific areas you can find mnemonics to help remember things. The knowledge you need is not way above the honors class BUT you need to review in a way that you have a good understanding and familiarity. Common reactions with H should be a common knowledge, not something you try to figure out during the test.
