<p>What would be best? It sounds so final if you write NMSF. If anyone is still reading from last year what did your child write? Semi-Finalist or Possible Finalist?</p>
<p>My kid (class of 2011) waited until she got notification of SF status, and put that on her apps. When she was named finalist that winter, she sent a copy of the letter to admissions and the theatre department (she was auditioning for musical theatre programs…a whole 'nother hurdle) as an update/touch base. She did end up accepting a NM college-sponsored scholarship. Schools know that most (generally 15000 out of 16000 SF become finalists…).</p>
