Hi, i'm a freshman in a CC, and i just want to explore my college choices, i'm a california resident so i probably would go for UC Berkeley but i would also like to know more college that has descent engineering program. I heard harvey-mudd and georgia tech are both really good schools, is there any more?

Cornell is usually in the top 5 as well, but they prefer junior transfers. They also want to see that you have taken specific classes, as well.

yeah, i’m going to transfer junior, right now i’m just exploring my choices

UC Berkeley is probably the best in the UC system for engineering. Georgia Tech and Harvey Mudd are, as you said, great. UCLA is also pretty good. Within California, California Polytechnic State University, and USC are also very good. CalTech and Stanford are extraordinary, but it’s extremely difficult to transfer into either of them. If you’re willing to go farther afield, U Texas Austin, Colorado School of Mines, Texas A&M College Station, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, Case Western, Rennselaer Polytechnic, Cooper Union, Olin, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech are all pretty solid as well. There’s also MIT, but they’re generally as difficult to transfer to for engineering as Stanford and CalTech. A point about Cooper Union and Olin is that they’re both free; students there get a full scholarship.
