To make this short and concise, can someone just make a list of some colleges with very strong amount of students going to some of the top engineering grad schools (preferably ones that don't have low acceptance rates (5-25%)? They don't need to be traditional engineering schools like CMU and such. Is it true that liberal arts colleges have higher grad school placements as well?

Yes I understand there are other factors as well, I don't need to be taught any lessons :) I am mainly doing this to see if there are some colleges that have been out of my radar that I should perhaps pay attention to.

Some LACs have high grad school placements, but that could be due to factors like the type of student that they attract due to fewer pre-professional majors (only a few LACs offer engineering majors). Small size may also make getting a job right out of school more difficult due to fewer recruiter visits.

As far as good engineering schools with modest acceptance rates UMich, UIUC, Case Western and GaTech come to mind. I do not know the exact numbers but I assume all of those schools have sent some graduates to MIT/Stanford/CalTech. There are also Texas A&M, Penn State, and Purdue. All good schools, all have sent students to top grad schools.

Lastly, did you want undergrad schools with modest acceptance rates or grad schools? Because if you wanted grad schools then my post does you no good and I apologize for that. All of the undergrad schools I mentioned are at 40%+ acceptance rates though.

Good grad schools in STEM majors tend to have lowish acceptance rates. When older son went thru this, even his (ha ha) safety schools had lowish acceptance rates. The school he chose to attend only accepted around 5% of applicants.

Undergrads do not “place” students into grad schools. Your chances of acceptance into grad school has more to do with: GPA, GPA within major, courses taken, GRE scores, LORs, research/ECs.

more selective than your specifications, but top knotch engineering grad placement
