Psych 1 is really easy too. But if you’re certain you won’t be a psych major, do psych 2.

crowslayer: i heard fillipenko is an awesome teacher and was thinking about astroc10. what kind of stuff do we learn in it? is there a lot of math/physics? i’m interested in space and stars, but if there is a lot of math, i don’t really want to take it lol.

gobears10: i probably won’t be a pysch major…more like MCB. how easy is pysch2? what do we learn in it?

anyway, another question…what should i phase 1 / phase 2?

for now, i know im taking chem3b/3bl (which is phase 1 def). also an r5b course (which i guess i should phase 1 as well?). haven’t decided on the rest of the classes yet, but the other classes im planning on taking are the easy gpa boosting ones lol.

nvm, screw psychology 2 lol. final is friday 7-10 pm…

oh also, easy reading and writing classes that fulfill the 2nd half?

i think your phase 1 will be filled up with chem 3b/3bl and r5b. and anything r5b is easy.

If you don’t get an A in Music 26AC, you shouldn’t be at Berkeley.

espm 144 very simple & easy class

I heard that Anthropology 3AC is also easy for people in the CoC?
Can anyone confirm that?

why does the r5b class i want to sign up for have a final exam group? do we have to go to that? omg .-.

also, can anyone answer what kind of stuff do we learn in astro c10 with fillipenko? thanks.

There is no final exam for almost any R5B, relax. In fact, a final exam for just 3 hours might be better than writing a 15-page paper for over 2 months which the latter is much more likely in a typical R5B class.

here’s a quick list of topics you cover in c10:
electromagnetic spectrum
light and the atmosphere
telescopes
moon phases/tides/history
earth’s history
solar system / planet characteristics
(mini) physics of gravity
types of stars, life cycle of different stars
(mini) chemistry/physics of stars
other galaxies
black holes
dark matter
dark energy
universe expansion
big bang (/crunch/various other) theory
multiple dimensions
looking for life in other galaxies/looking for earth-type planets
carl sagan… lol
other topics (if i missed any)

the math is pretty straightforward if you can just remember the formulas alright. overall it’s a fun class with some interesting labs.

oh ok thanks. sounds interesting. but i’ll have to phas 2 it so hopefully, it will still bet here…
