What are some extracurriculars you guys are doing?

my set of ECs is pretty weak right now, and i can't think of anything interesting i wanna get into.

what are you guys doing? maybe i can get some ideas..

I play in orchestras outside of school, but I'm not sure if you have the talent to just pick up an instrument and join these kind of ensembles.

Just volunteer for something you want to do. I want to save the hellbenders but I can't find any organizations for it :(.

Harvard Model Congress, Speech and Debate, Robotics Team, and the Frisbee Team

Varsity Golf, Mayor's Youth Council, Art club, Varsity Science Olympiad, Strategic board's club, Christian fellowship club, Tae Kwon Do, Church Youth Group, Church Handbell choir, member of local think tank. (I omitted leadership positions.)

Non-club EC's (volunteerring):
1. Clerical volunteering at my school
2. Computer repair volunteer at my school
3. Installed wireless cards and helped with set up of school laptops
4. Volunteering with Youth Council
5. Made handout on proper laptop usage

Ideas- Look for state advisory board positions as a student representative... I'm currently an applicant for one.
Use volunteer myspace to find things in your area, you could even run for the board of a non-profit, which I'm trying to do right now.

JV Track, Math League, Astronomy, Campus Ministry (volunteer work for school functions), volunteer @ local library + Red Cross

Marching/concert/Jazz Bands
Hi-Q team
Science Olympiad

other stuff...

I did a lot of community service such as help raise money for different organizations (lupis, march of dimes, aids etc...) then i went on walks, i even recieved certificates for some of those activities. Helping the staff at school with blood drive. Try to join something like a "student government" they do a lot of activities.

Key Club
Japanese Club
Anime Club (My friend and I made it because we just sorta felt like it...maybe you could form a club based on something that interests you?)
Archery

I've also taken cooking lessons, acting lessons, random stuff like that. :)

Varsity Soccer, Varsity Swimming, Varsity Track, Math League, volunteer at a historic landmark and I play guitar on my own

figure skating and drama are my main two. Lots of fun :)

Track/cross country, public policy academy, debate, hospital volunteering, working at surgery center.

Key Club FTW

Environmental activism, MUN, varsity sports, a sport at the national level, all sorts of cultural stuff within school.

It's the depth which counts more than the breadth, so I think I've got it covered.

Intel ISEF research project
Robotics team
Got an internship position at an engineering lab at the local university
some SAT tutoring and piano (for fun/to relax)

thats pretty much it for me

work, hospital volunteer, secretary at a community college admissions office, secretary at dental office, mock trial, big brothers big sisters, reach out and read, sports.

Aikido, some church stuff, hospital volunteering, piano, orchestra, newspaper, NHS, NSHS, and IBSO.

I must say, some of the stuff you guys do sounds really interesting. :)

^ like ?`

A lot of music- I do a lot of recording for other people and local bands, sound engineering, producing, etc.
I am also in several ensembles- one official jazz/fusion ensemble, one rock band (lead guitar/vocals) that has done pretty well so far, and I study Indian classical and incorporate sitar into some jazz stuff that I write with friends.

I also do independent research, once again, music related. I've done well at science fairs, so I hope to do well at the BIG science fairs (Intel/Siemens).

That's it really. Besides that I'm a member of Model U.N., but we don't really do much because its a new program at my school. I also play with the Frisbee team occasionally. I volunteer here at there at the local hospital (I'm a translator- Hindi/Spanish/English) and I do some work with an organization which helps poverty in India.

Yeah...my ECs dont really take up too much time, and I'd like to keep it that way. Laziness FTW.
