Questions vary quite a bit from school to school. Some schools like to do very stressful interviews and grill you on ethical questions, etc. Others are very laid back and just talk about your college activities the whole time.

But you are pretty much guaranteed to get some form of “why medicine?” or “why do you want to be a doctor?”. You will also invariably get some question that will test your knowledge of the issues facing doctors or the medical field as a whole. You’ll want to be sure to be on top of current issues in medicine (especially if during an election year), and to be able to talk about how you would fix health care if it were up to you.

Otherwise, the questions schools ask are as varied as the schools themselves.

Thanks for the nice response,
What are some examples of those “ethical questions”?

What would you do with a million dollars in Africa
Would you spend 100k on curing a kid with cancer or vaccinating 100 children against this or that.
HIV related testing on humans
What would you do in the situation of being asked to perform an operation which you are ethically against.

Also, be expected to discuss in detail the relevance of your ECs.

Also be ready for questions on abortion, physician assisted suicide, professional integrity, etc.

The UW medical ethics site is a good place to start if you haven’t thought much about these issues. Lots of good reading there
