Hi, very last minute but a family emergency gives me no choice. Is there any boarding school that isn't too selective? Preferably a New England/East Coast one? Thanks!

Look on boardingschoolreview.com - Every school profile has the acceptance rate on it. Although BSR isn’t always completely correct with their information, the acceptance rates are usually in the same ball park. If you do an advanced search, you can pick the location (by state or by region), the size, co-ed or single sex, Saturday classes or not, etc.

Look through this forum
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/1130908-hidden-gems-lesser-known-prep-schools.html
You should be able to find one there that would fit you!

A few quick questions to help you out with your search.

Are you looking for a co-ed school or an all boys/girls school?

Is financial aid necessary?

How are your grades?

What grade are you entering? and are you willing to repeat a grade?

try to look up kent, pomfret and kimball union. i’m not sure if any schools have openings anymore, but kent (which is a fantastic school, i highly recommend it!) still had a few openings back in like, june (according to a CC poster), so i think you could try them. i’m not totally sure but i think pomfret and kimball union are rolling admissions, and if not, it’s still worth a shot-- they might still have spots.

you could also look up boardingschoolreview.com and look for schools with rolling admissions. all of the above is only applicable if you don’t need FA, though… if you do, i think the best thing to do would be to wait until the next admissions cycle. best of luck!

You might look at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. It’s near New York City.

George School - Newtown, PA?

Yeah GS accepts a lot of people!
