Physics - PR

My personal opinion is that AP prep books are worth a lot less than SAT or SAT II books are. The SAT I and II are very regulated tests where the topics covered are well known and easily reproduced in prep book form. The APs however love to spring new stuff on you all the time. I took the AP Physics C (both tests) this spring and one mechanics multi-choice question required multivariable calc, which isn't even covered in BC as far as I know. For this reason, it's best to stick to class notes and the class text cause the prep books will lull you into a false state of security. I took the AB test too and didn't use a prep book for either one. I got a 5 on the AB and 4s on both sections of the Physics C.

...but I did buy PR books for both physics and calc, so maybe they're worth it for the good luck. Plus, they're both very thick and burn very well, so take them camping with you and have lots of fire-starter paper. :)

Not all schools teach the same quality of material. AP Bio at my school prepares most kids to get 5's and 4's; I doubt an AP Bio course at Trenton High School would produce the same results.

(In case you know nothing about Jersey, Trenton has a crappy education system.)
