Have you checked out Emory University, and College of the Holy Cross?

Pepperdine.

I don’t think of Elon, Davidson or Duke as being conservative. Not liberal either, but not conservative.

I would say that Hillsdale is ultra conservative. Many of their supporters are what I would call shout down any other opinion conservatives, and that’s not what I consider a real conservative.

Wingate University is NC is considered conservative.

Pepperdine is definitely on my list, since it’s just up the coast for me…not far at all.

I considered Emory but I’ve heard that their B-school is impossible to transfer into, may be wrong though…Holy Cross gives out no aid to transfer students, and although my parents could afford it, I don’t think it is worth it to pay full price, I’d like to save my parents money…

After checking out Hillsdale, I think it may be a bit too small for me…

Vanderbilt?

^ Vanderbilt is hardly conservative. More like neutral.

Any list that contains Hillsdale should probably also have Grove City College on it.

^But you might as well be home-schooled at that point… I mean if your goal is learn why the earth is 1000 years old, etc.

D went to Colgate - it is absolutely NOT conservative.

Take a look at Patrick Henry -

[Patrick Henry College](http://www.phc.edu/)

Highreach - I’ve got nothing else to add to the thread, but that was funny.

A really good resource for finding conservative colleges is the book Choosing the Right College. It provides a much more in-depth view of academic requirements and student life than any I’ve seen.

Wheaton College outside Chicago. Excellent facilities and faculty.

Hmm, there’s some interesting schools that got mentioned, some I’ve already got on my radar, such as Miami University, Vandy, etc…what about Baylor?

The absolute standard for conservatism-HSC

Incorrect. Duke and Dartmouth are definitely NOT conservative. They’re actually pretty liberal. Duke, while located in the oh gross “South” actually has students from all over the place. The same applies to Dartmouth although Duke is actually more diverse than Dartmouth.
Both these are not conservative.

You, OP, might want to take a look at Bob Jones University or BYU.

*You, OP, might want to take a look at Bob Jones University or BYU. *

Thanks, Bob Jones is definitely not for me…but BYU is on the list already

How much can you spend each year?

Can you visit any schools before you apply?

Duke is not a southern school. Davidson is a southern school. Dartmouth was regarded as one of the more conservative Ivy League schools, but of late, its decidedly liberal in faculty and student body. Notre Dame and Colgate are conservative schools overall because their student body is overall more conservative. Holy Cross is a fairly liberal campus.

BYU is really only for Mormons. If you are not Mormon, then don’t go there.

Finally, it depends on what you mean by “conservative.” If you mean lack of parties and sexual promiscuity, then perhaps this is not the thread for you. BYU and Bob Jones would be a better fit. Many conservatives are just as much partiers and promiscuous hook ups as liberals. If by conservative you mean economics and politics then many schools on this thread are good suggestions.

By “conservative” I really mean both socially and politically AND lack of crazy drunken parties…so yes, a lot of the schools mentioned here are of help to me…

And I am related to Mormons, plus I have been on BYU’s campus, so I am sure I will be fine.

How much can you spend each year?

Quite a bit. My parents sent both my siblings to expensive schools without much aid. We do not really qualify for aid (too high of an EFC). I would say anything up to 50k is okay due to them not complaining when I explained to them about some of my school choices, but I am the fiscally responsible one and would like to save them as much as possible…

Can you visit any schools before you apply?

I can, I visited a few here in California and on the West Coast, and did a summer road trip to some of the Midwest schools this past summer in between classes but from now on I’d prefer to hold off visiting until I finalize my list down.

^BYU just sounds like too perfect of a place for you. My best friend goes there and is completely in love with it. It’s super conservative and totally stone cold dry.
