While obviously there is some difference between an MBA program that is strong in finance, and a pure finance-only graduate program (i.e. a PhD in Finance), I doubt that the difference is going to be large. If your MBA program is good in Finance, your Finance PhD program is probably going to be pretty good.

There are a few masters programs (ie Master in/of Finance) as well:

Princeton (Bendheim) Vanderbilt (Owen) Boston College (Carroll) UIUC Texas A&M

Haas and Columbia has Masters in Financial Engg

A few other places have programs in Mathematical Finance or Financial Mathematics

thanks, that helped a lot~!

Then, I was wondering what major is the best option for finance grad.
These are my options in undergrad.

: Double majoring in math and econ.
: having a finance undergraduate degree
: Double majoring in math and something else, (such as Chemistry)

Which one is the best choice for undergraduate student?

Well, I'm majoring in econ with minors in stats and accounting.

I'm hoping that's going to give me an edge. And if you're interested in taking the CFA Exams, this combination should help.
