I am going to transfer after I get my Associates Degree at my local SUNY community college. I plan on getting a 3.5 GPA and I have a 1410 out of 2400 SAT score. I want to get a computer science bacholars so what are some good schools I can transfer to with my credentials. I was looking at RPI, RIT, and Clarkson, I don’t know if that would work?
If you meant 1410 out of 1600, in other words only math and reading, then all three of those are ok and RPI would be the best of the three.
If you meant 1410 out of 2400, that might be an issue. Your math should be in the range of about ~700 give or take. Another good Computer Science degree is from Stony Brook for you to consider.
Since you’re a transfer student I don’t know if your SAT’s will matter much, I think they really only care about the gpa and the rigor of the school in order to transfer your credits. Good luck to you.
I’d do some more research on Clarkson. They’re always on the lists of highest paid grads. One in five alum is a CEO, senior exec, or business owner. They have strong intern and externship opps. My niece goes there and I’ve been super impressed with the school. I don’t know how strong their CS program is, so you would need to look into that. It seems like a little hidden gem. Oh, and if you’re a female, you’d probably get a lot of aid.
