What are some good party schools that I could get into?

Any state school.

Virtually any school with big sports is going to have a party element…at least on home game weekends.

I won’t need that much financial aid, but that might change. Does Emory have a good party scene?

Negative. Not good.

What about Harvey Mudd?

Makes Emory look like Mardi Gras. Claremont=sleepiest town ever. For fun they go to Kabuki Theater.

How about UCSB and Wake Forest? Is UCSB considered a good school or not really? I’ve heard that they have a good party scene

You’re way off the mark if you’re looking at Harvey Mudd for a party school. HMC is comparable (in both academics and social life) to MIT, Caltech, etc. Going to Mudd means you’re a hardcore math/science/engineering nerd.

If you want to be in SoCal, USC would fit more of the partying theme.

Some good “word hard, play hard” schools are (separating them by category)
LACs:
Colgate
Trinity College
St. Lawrence
Small/mid-sized universities:
Dartmouth
Wake Forest
Lehigh
Bucknell
Large universities:
Boston College
Villanova
Vanderbilt
Penn
Duke
USC
Michigan
Penn State
UVA
UNC
U of Wisconsin-Madison
UCLA

Some of the schools I named are huge reaches (Duke, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, UCLA), but given that your SAT goes well and you keep working hard in high school you have a good shot at many of these schools  Good luck!

Btw I noticed you asked specifically about the academics/partying at UCSB and partying at Wake. UCSB is ranked #39 in U.S. News and is certainly good academically…but it’s known primarily for its parties. Wake has a large Greek scene and there are many parties. Hope that helps!

In regards to UCSB, there’s a reason its nicknames are U Can Study Buzzed and University of Casual Sex and Beer.

UC-Santa Cruz, UCONN, University of Delaware, UNH, University of Vermont, West Virginia University, Union College (NY).

If you are looking for a party you can find it.

Actually, Mudd is known for having some of the best parties of the Claremont Colleges (CMC and Mudd usually share titles for that). Parties are pretty frequent, and one was actually featured in Playboy’s Best College Parties list. It’s a work hard/party hard atmosphere, for those who wish to partake. If there’s no party on Mudd campus on a given weekend, there almost certainly is one or two on the other 4C’s too.

Not saying it’s the biggest party school in the world, there are plenty of those in this thread. The workload at Mudd does not anywhere near justify it as a “party school”. Just saying be careful how you judge the social atmosphere based on it being a science/tech school, we’re not known for being quiet…

There’s a weekend when there’s no party on a college campus?! O.O

UCSB is a really good school and is known as the party school in the UC. With your stats, you most likely will be able to get in.

okay guys, thanks. any other ideas?

anywhere else?

please guys?

Oh yeah, party yeah!

at boston college they usually party till they puke. Good school for you.

For a NJ girl, Rutgers has gotta be an option. Big party rep?

And UW@ Madison is the party school.
