im gonna have exceptional essays and reccomendations

So do you want to be an engineering major? Which field?

no, pre med...figured the 2000 hours and all the ambulance stuff woulda tipped that off, in addition to all the doctor shadowing

I'm just looking at things like CAD modeling and engineering classes.

Okay, here are some to look at:

Reaches:
Johns Hopkins University
Dartmouth College
Brandeis University
Boston College
Amherst College
New York University
Middlebury College

Matches:
Lehigh University
Villanova
RPI
Boston University
Penn State

Safeties:
Dickinson College
Drexel University
Clark University
Northeastern
Rutgers
Drew University

those EC's with the red cross etc seem like they could give you a good hook. is the 3.9 weighted or UW? i think especially if you can get your sat's up a little past 2000 at least you might have a good shot at the ivies and other top schools. BU's med school will also be a good match.

its weighted, hmm i may look at amherst, do i have a decent shot over there if i pull up the SAT?

Yeah, your SATs aren't that bad, the new SATs are leaving the schools in limbo, and I've met with my Amherst admis officer many times, they said they'll emphasize on the full picture b/c that's what they have to judge, and you have the full picture. With some good reccomendations, I have no doubt you'll impress them.

UConn's med program is great. Might be a good match/safety for you. Amazing research opportunities there, especially in the sciences, and John Dempsey (their hospital) is terrific.
