What are some good sources for third party information about colleges?

One of the most frustrating things about searching for colleges (for me) was that I could never get a good feel of the quality of colleges just from their website because many of them (naturally) exaggerate and push the most positive aspects to a point that it becomes very difficult to discern if the college is a good fit for you. Are there some magazines or websites that will describe the social life of a college and the real quality of a college's programs, etc? What are they?

Sites that might help you are collegeboard.com, princetonreview.com, essayforum.com, students review.com - these are four sites where you can register for SAT (collegeboard), get some practice tests and get help with essays (essayforum) and find universities you want to attend (students review and princetonreview).

There are some sites where current students can review their college and comment on what they like and don’t like. the only problem is there is no real way to tell who is really a student and who isn’t, but that’s all there is unless you visit and actually talk face to face.

okay - the first site I mentioned is spelled u n i g o .com, and the second one is college p r o w l e r. com
