hey guys, what are some good choices of upper division electives that are interesting and not too difficult? any recommendations?

all the lit classes are pretty easy .. i took LTEA 136, atomic bomb lit & film. piece of cake, and i got a kick out of tallying the number of times the professor said "incommensurability" in her japanese accent over the course of the quarter.

but my all-time favorite was TDMV110, intermediate ballet. a workout AND class credit = score!

UD Biology...interesting and easy.

Is UD Bio more like a survey course then?

uh, no.

UD = upper division bio. all bio classes beyond the basic BILDs (as the name would imply) are upper division, and concentrated in a particular discipline of biology. the survey courses (if you can call them that) are the BILDs, and they cover a lot of material at once. it's best trying to get AP credit for them rather than wasting your time memorizing that stuff.

and i dunno about chessdude2's talents, but the majority of UD bios are NOT as easy as pie. i think the labs are generally easier (unless your TAs get nitpicky about lab reports) than the lectures.

Most classes become easy when they're P/NP'ed :P

I've heard UD theater and music classes are fun and interesting

I'm surprised no one said any of Victor Magagna's Poli Sci courses. They're pretty easy. Take home midterm, take home finals, choice of 6-10 prompts for each. Never have to do reading, just go to class. I'd definitely recommend him. You'll learn a lot without a lot of work.

thanks for the replies! theres more UD options than i thought :)
