@rad1804 large state schools that can get full pay out of state students typically are happy to have them if they are strong candidates, that includes Berkeley, UCLA, UVA etc… So no only T20 schools have 10x the number of super applicants they can take

@rad1804 It’s going to apply less as you go further down in selectivity. But a new hook will appear when you get into need-aware: full-pay international. How much that is a hook will depend on the school. You have to research that. I don’t know re Berkeley. Keep in mind that for publics they may have limited spots for internationals (and OOS). These schools have a mandate to serve their state residents and it really varies how many spots are open to those out of state. You have to research to figure that out. On the otherhand there are schools that emphasize their international %. There you have a leg up.
