What are some Ivy schools out there?

"The USNWR has very few highly educated employees. In fact, last tme I checked, there wasn't a sinhgle employee who worked at the USNWR who was once responsible for truly analyzing the quality of an undergraduate institution's curriculae or its final product"

haha, so you are refuting statistical analysis in favor of a system in which deans from other schools say "hmm.. i think i'd give cal about a 4.7 out of 5"..? obviously if you graduated cal they are doing a good job, right? ha

elsijfdl, let us not argue. Let us agree to disagree and leave it at that. There are literally dozens of universities worthy of top honors and only 10 of those can make the top 10 list. Obviously, there are going to be differences in opinion. All I ask is that you not make sweeping statements like Cal doesn't come close competing the Ivies or that nobody outside of California cares about Cal.

i was having more fun arguing about it

So was I! LOL!!!

haha ..10 chars

Med schools would be nursing schools if not for the research of PhDs in bio and chemistry.

Business schools would be accounting schools without the input of PhDs in econ, psychology, and sociology.

Law schools would be paralegal schools without the contributions of PhDs in philosophy and psychology. Courts of law often get testimony from expert witnesses...very few of whom are attorneys.

^^

good point, but actually law schools would always be law schools, just teaching less enlightened laws ;)

Excellent post, TourGuide.
What can we expect on a thread entirely devoted to the iffy concept of "prestige"? People who call some Ph.D. programs "useless." How closed-minded!
