Do most people just take the SAT practice tests in the BB and get used to the questions or do they actually read all the tutorials that are incorporated into the book. None of my methods of studying have been successful thus far, so I was wondering if I could get some ideas and perhaps adopt them for my own. thanks!!

The second one.

And I bought Barron’s, then did all the practice exams and practice.

Spending hours every day playing video games, not spending money on SAT prep materials, and sleeping ~35 hours per week was how I studied for the SAT, and it seems to have worked pretty well. I would recommend that you do the same.

Get the Blue Book and start practicing. I also found this link very helpful http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/750399-how-attack-sat-critical-reading-section-effectively.html.

For me, doing a bunch of practice tests was the only surefire way to go. At first, it seems like your score does not improve at all, and you get very frustrated, but if you keep at it, you slowly notice your mistakes lessening and lessening.

Of course, I didn’t only use the BB. I used the BB and the 11 Princeton Review tests and the Cracking the SAT Princeton Review tests, as well as the three practice tests available at collegeboard.com, and past PSAT’s, as well as 10 Reals. This was all for math preparation though, because it was my weakest. For CR and W, I only stuck to the Collegeboard materials, didn’t use PR. I think I’ve probably done the BB about three times or so.

The former works if you are not familiar with the test. If you are at certain level, take some practice exams.

When are you taking the SAT?

Do these books teach u how to solve the various questions found in the SAT’s? Or will I need an actual SAT prep course to get that info?

I just took a few practice tests and studied vocabulary.

I’m working with my math teacher to improve my math score (690) and taking practice tests and going over the Writing ones i missed (610) with my english teacher
